Works fine, but one thing: When you launch the app, security asks to receive incoming. I can't figure out how to add those permissions in Big Sur.

Cheers

Is it a system thing? Like gatekeeper or SIP, I wonder? Due to get mine on the 11th.

Well, sort of. Not sure if you are familiar with Big Sur. Security is tight, but you poke holes in the firewall, etc.

I've done what it says, and it still doesn't rid the dialog box.

I got 3 monitors and 2 external RAIDs on this Mini. Nice box.

Oh, I know BigSur very well.

So, have you in fact disabled gatekeeper and/or SIP?

I don't have either. What is SIP?

Think of Gatekeeper as Apple's first line of defense. Turning it off reverts what you see in the Security&Privacy to how it was several OS iterations ago.

Think of SIP as the second line. Security on steroids.

I'm not saying either is a factor. I do know that SIP can interfere with security actions. I'm certainly not a programmer so can not further speculate exactly what might be going on.

Many many folks have Gatekeeper turned off.

Some people turn off SIP for installations of software from questionable sources, some legit software that still doesn't quite meed Apple's requirements (usually happens to a new (version of) app right after a macOS version update). Usually those people turn SIP back on. Usually those apps are OK once installed. Some of us leave it turned off. In my case I'm a lazy bastard who is relatively competent and who trusts in my backup systems. :P

Ya the app opens. I have to approve of them before they run. So Gatekeeper has been dealt with.

I followed the dialog box's instructions, so I'm unclear why this is happening.

Do you by any chance have Apple's Firewall turned on?
System Preferences>Security&Privacy>Firewall

What does it say when you click the circled question mark in the upper righthand corner?

I'm thinking it's the Firewall. I don't use it but do use LittleSnitch.

Since I'm due to get mine on Friday and hope to have it fully running with all of my stuff by Sunday(?) I won't encourage you to start messing with your settings.

Stay tuned as I will be trying stuff soonest.

Ya I'm here. This doesn't bother me, other than the lack of clarity as to how to solve it. The reco has been done and it still shows up.

No worries. Cheers

Good news, at least for me.

qBittorrent v4.3.0 is running as expected on my new M1 iMac. I have yet to disable SIP nor Gatekeeper so they are not involved with the asking for permission upon starting qB. Besides Apple's own Firewall you do not have any other such as LittleSnitch or LuLu.

Have you tried turning off your Firewall and see if you are still asked for approval?

OK, it works without asking now, firewall off.

Good enough. Now we know. Now need the developers to figure out why and fix it.
