How big is that torrent? Is it multifile? If yes, how big is the biggest files it contains?

"How big is that torrent? Is it multifile? If yes, how big is the biggest files it contains?"

It's a multifile torrent of about 170 GB total size.
Data files of similar sizes. Under 1.5 GB for the largest one.

"Something, if you could try, temporarily move the config files while the client is closed of course. Re-open client, check for immediate error message, if not load a test torrent, check for error message."

I only get that error message when qBT uses ~530 MB ram. I can immediately restart the torrent without that action alone causing further errors...and I have to, since when the error is triggered the torrent is automatically paused.

"Also, was there any specific crashdump associated with the crash? I thought all of the latest builds are supposed to come with a debugging crashdump?"

I didn't read the crashdump associated with the opening Options crash...where is that stored?

Getting weird crashes now in my qBT tests, even including hash fails on torrents I uploaded from qBT to another client...though I can't seem to figure what's caused the hash fails since I only saw that in the first couple runs.
Faulting application qbittorrent.exe, version 3.1.0.0, faulting module qbittorrent.exe, version 3.1.0.0, fault address 0x001066e8.
drwtsn32.exe typically runs when I get a qBT crash. But sometimes dwwin.exe runs instead.

Crash example screenshots:

Also, when I double-clicked on the torrent name in the content window, I get this in a pop-up box:
I/O Error
This folder does not exist yet.

Can anybody explain what the letters in the Flags column mean?

It's basically utorrent flags, note that capitalization does matter:

?: your client unchoked the peer but the peer is not interested
D: currently downloading from the peer (interested and not choked)
d: your client wants to download, but peer doesn’t want to send (interested and choked)
E: peer is using Protocol Encryption (all traffic)
e: peer is using Protocol Encryption (handshake)
F: peer was involved in a hashfailed piece (not necessarily a bad peer, just involved)
H: peer was obtained through DHT
h: peer connection established via UDP hole-punching
I: peer established an incoming connection
K: peer unchoked your client, but your client is not interested
L: peer has been or discovered via Local Peer Discovery
O: optimistic unchoke
P: peer is communicating and transporting data over uTP
S: peer is snubbed
U: currently uploading to the peer (interested and not choked)
u: the peer wants your client to upload, but your client doesn’t want to (interested and choked)
X: peer was included in peer lists obtained through Peer Exchange (PEX)

Check git log. New feature: Load magnet links in the background while showing the add dialog. If metadata is downloaded the dialog is updated and shows the files etc. Test it and give your feedback. Thanks

Does the progressbar look ok on your system when loading the metadata?

I've tried a few popular magnet links and the file list shows up fine. Thanks.

Having a magnet link without metadata in the list, loading its torrent file merges the trackers just fine. But why not load the contents also?

Let's say a magnet link is added in paused mode without any metadata downloaded. Then you find its torrent file and you add it... Only the tracker list is being updated, nothing else. i.e. file list, torrent size, pieces size, etc.

Interesting observation. This isn't supported by libtorrent but I think we can do it manually ourselves. Nevertheles, this should become a feature request for both qbt and libtorrent.
