Hey Dayman, since I see in your signature that you use Gentoo can you please confirm/deny this problem for me in Debian: http://qbforums.shiki.hu/index.php?topic=886.0

@bovirus

The qbt specific qm are compiled in statically in the binary itself. This is how the author has chosen to do it. The qt ones are not compiled in statically.

I can understand you wanting the files separately but this is not a decision I made. You can still make the translation submit it in github and then wait for Chris to pull it in the repo and make it available in the next release.

For corrections in the wiki please just email the author or create a bug report. Maybe he was in vacation and that's why he didn't reply to you.

Damn, magnet links still don't work until you exit and reopen the client.

Can you explain more? They work with me fine. How do I reproduce the problem?

s4nder, I tested few torrents to see any speed difference and what I can tell is that uTorrent prefers uTp connections more often than qBittorrent. The same peer was connected as BT instead uTp at qBittorrent while uTorrent directly goes with uTp. Not sure if this can be a cause though. My settings are Global 500 and Peers Per Torrent is set at 125.

EDIT: My line goes up to +- 2mb/s down and I can archieve this speed with both of the clients. qBittorrent indeed seeds very active which I like. I will try later on a fiber line so I can see if it really has a difference. Everything else works perfect also magnet links as some has reported as problem/bug.

I commented on this bug report:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/qbittorrent/+bug/1011037
I couldn't see how to create a bug report, but I found that one through a search and it was nearly identical, except that it happens to that user on torrent files also.  It only happens for magnet links for me.  So I commented on it with my description and used the "Does this bug affect you?" link to hopefully bump it somehow.  I'm not sure how to reproduce it yet, because it happens for any magnet link I use.  So I would say just go to piratebay and click a link, but you already said it doesn't happen for you.

Tomaso pointed out this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/qbittorrent/+bug/987340 (note comment #6), when I was describing another bug a few pages back, which may be related.  I now realize I was experience two separate bugs and it looks like that is one of them.

Agreed, in qBT only about half of the connections are utp while in uTorrent almost all of them are. qBT seeds much more aggressively, I only get an occasional trickle of upload in uTorrent, so it's far better in that regard. It would be great if someone else could test qBT on a fast connection to see if it reaches max download speed.

It maxes out on my connection:

Strange. That means the problem may be on my end somehow. Have you changed any settings from defaults?

Edit: I disabled utp and got spikes up to 4,2 MB/s, maybe I'll just leave it off for now.

I haven't changed much from the default settings that should make much of a difference.

Port = Random.
UPnP/NAT-PMP port forwarding = Disabled (cuz I'm directly connected through an unmanaged switch).
IP Filtering = Enabled (with filters from http://ip-filter.emulefuture.de/ ).
Upload (Global Rate Limit) = 80% off my total up-speed.

..and of course, qBittorrent has got full server rights in my firewall setup.

Got back after 4 weeks of RL. Did a rebuild of 2.9.11 with MSVC -> fail. I don't even want to know what went wrong (my dht thread taught me you can't rely on windows). At least i can build with mingw64. 3.1a works fine so far.

No, I meant on Gentoo. Do qbt+libtorrent behave correctly?

Well, I could do a bit of testing. What version are you interested in? Gentoo has 2.9.[7,11], 3.0.0_rc3 and git HEAD. And libtorrent: 0.15.[5,9,10], 0.16.1.

P.S. I don't have 64 bit linux.

The latest change to libtorrent's SVN is a uTP fix:
* disable support for large MTUs in uTP until it is more reliable
