Hey, sledge.
The option "Check for software updates" hasn't been available in qBitorrent's GUI since v4.1.8, and can only be changed in qBittorrent.ini now.
Was it removed by accident?

I still have the option @Tomaso.
Tools > Options > Behaviour > Between File association and Power Management, about 3/4 of the way down.

Ah, so it was simply moved.
I've completely missed that!
It used to be under 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Advanced'.
Thanks for pointing out its new location.
LOL! :)

Somebody here has been able to compile QT 5.15.0 with MSVC ? With the latest commit, 5.15 is mandatory.

But no way to compile qt 5.15 final (5.15 beta 2 was ok), and it seems I'm not alone :

Thx !

Could it be your HDD/storage? If they are too slow, Windows will cache writes until the storage is capable of writing out the data. But this is true to any version of qBittorrent.

well with utorrent max it used was 400mb, i switched qBittorrent just now. the program is on ssd but all that i download are on 5 hdds. the RAM usage grows all day, max i seen is 1.3gb RAM used. i just never seen a program use that much so wanted to know is it normal or i need to change settings.

Wow -- I hadn't noticed before, but qBittorrent does seem to have a serious memory leak!
This is with a single torrent at about 2 MB/sec, with under just 100 connections.
And no, it's not a disk issue -- I have a fast Samsung M.2 PM961 SSD on
Lenovo ThinkPad T470p with quad-core i7-7820HQ and 32 GB memory.

"It's a feature, not a bug, working as designed."
See too much memory consumption in the latest version · Issue #12622 · qbittorrent/qBittorrent
I set cache site to 128 MB, which solved the problem.

I mean, I'm just going off with my own systems, like I haven't seen any big memory usage on any OS (Windows 10 x3; Windows Server 2019 x1; Ubuntu 18.04 x3; Ubuntu 20.04 x2), that's why I was saying that it could be just storage. Thanks for getting back and sharing the link.
