qBittorrent official forums

There is literally nothing in the error log or the ban table. I could empty out or whole ban table and you could give it a try.
No other idea... really. Maybe Stop Forum Spam hits you, but your IP is not listed there either.

(Anyone wanna cough up some 10.000-50.000$ for IPB?)


Dropping the ban table did solve the problem, so now we have to track this down.
Meanwhile I restored the bans ofc.

It works now, so thank you for your effort 

The problem began when the forum moved to the new server.
I never had this problem on the old server.

EDIT: This may cause everyone to re-log. But I enabled "database driven session handling". This should fix your issue.

I was just looking at the admin log. The first error message was reading:

Sorry Dayman, you are banned from using this forum!
This ban is not set to expire.
You may continue to browse the forum as a guest.

I applied a filter to that message and several others appeared with the same IP. I clicked on the IP and it shows that 2 members have connected with this one "jeps, WeniSpite". The latter one is banned.
Also it showed that jeps made a post connected with this IP today, so this IP isn't banned. Couldn't hurt to check though. Shiki I'll pm you the IP.

Also I think the IP logging mechanism is broken, because I can see that the logged IP of my prev post doesn't match my actual IP (which is shown by whatsmyip.org)

Yeah, I found that IP as well. But I didn't see jeps's name there.
Weird.

There is a plugin for Cloudflare, I'll install it. (So we will get to see the real IPs.)

Yeah, I did a whois on the logged IP of my post and it belongs to cloudflare.com

I also think that something got broken when moved to this new server.

I have never done anything to get my user banned, nor has anyone from this IP.
For a short while (when Shiki disabled all security) I was able to login.
I also have a static IP.

I was logged in for a short while, when Shiki had all security diasabled, but when he enabled it again, I got the error again.

So my IP is banned (or what the server think is my IP)

I have found the common IP between jeps and Dayman in the Ban Triggers and I have removed it.
I hope this solves the problem.

PS: Shiki shouldn't we remove all the ban triggers that are based on IPs?

It sort of worked and then didn't work.
When I opened my browser at the forum, I didn't get any errors.
I then browsed to this thread to write a note about your success.
Remembering I had to login to be allowed to write anything, I tried to login and then got the error again.

It looks like the login attempt triggers a ban, and that the ban is done on IP-level?

Yeah, I'll throw them out in a moment. (And install the Cloudflare plugin so we can ban IPs properly.)

ps.: It's not the server (that's great/fast), but Cloudflare.
