Program in torrent with viruses

Post by knopfler1980 »

Hello all.

I don't have much experience downloading with torrent and I would like to ask your opinion about this.

I downloaded this https://tpb.party/torrent/30077265/Glas ... ne[BabuPC] and when I scan with virus total for malware/viruses, it reports this: Image

It doesn't say hacktools, it clearly says trojan so I didn't install it. Is it safe to install? Should I look for another torrent?

I downloaded from another site and when I scan with virustotal is even worst Image

Is there any place where I can safety download without viruses or malware?

Thanks in advance.

I just wouldn't use Glasswire at all. Software firewalls are 99% pointless. If you have a router, you already don't need one because you are behind NAT - you are behind a firewall 100% basically. Sure, you are not monitoring/limiting outgoing apps like that. But to have and manage an outgoing, "Default DENY" firewall - is really, really time consuming. Almost crippling because you have to check each and every application for network traffic. And let's say you enable a system application, and I make my trojan just download through the system application in some way (tftp for example).

Well you are right but with windows file integrity checker you could know if a file system is modified or even make windows restores from time to time:
SYSTEM INTEGRITY CHECKER
sfc /scannow

RESTORE:
https://answers.microsoft.com/es-es/win ... 8791645200
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

Another infection way would be malware fileless: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... ss-threats so probably a auditing memory system processes should be performed, I didn't check about it.

I have installed Glasswire trial and wasn't so busy blocking or allowing apps and I have 15GB in apps.

Anyway, all the glass wire I saw was infected like FileMenu Tools. Is there any trustable torrent searcher?

Thanks for your help!!
