Uploading issues via proxy.sh proxy settings...

Post by reklaimer »

Hello everyone.

I am using my VPN's proxy setting in my qbittorrent client on my Ubuntu 12 machine. I have confirmed that the proxy does work by using some online tools. However, I am also using a private torrent tracker. I can download the torrents just fine and without issue. However, I am not seeding much. Not nearly as much as I think I should. Since I am using a private tracker, I have a ratio I would like to keep! Is this a normal occurrence? Or am I doing something wrong?

Seeding and proxy servers simply do not go hand in hand, your chances of being 'connectable' are somewhere between 'slim' and 'none'.

Ah, so would you suggest that just using my VPN instead would be a better choice?

VPN will also make you passive.
If you want to retain your seeding capability, get a seedserver.
Probably one with SFTP support, so you can get your files safely with encryption.

(But if you can just connect via FTP through your proxy... that works too.)
