Hi;
Noob to qbittorrent but utorrent user.
Trying to switch.
I can not figure out your folder setup.
I think I have some correct but can not change others.
Where is the default folder for .torrent? How do I change it? I have found copy .torrent files to *** and changed it, but original still going elsewhere.
I have set up the "save files to" for the completed dnlds. will they not save there if there is already a file with the same name?
How do I add all my old .torrent files(1400 of them) without it trying to dnld them all again? (for seeding and checking for duplicates)
Those questions should get me started,
TIA
Folders questions?
Re: Folders questions?
Tools -> Options -> Downloads (copy .torrent files to)Where is the default folder for .torrent?
Use the import function and point qbt to the parent location of the payload, NOT the top most folder OF the payload. How do I add all my old .torrent files(1400 of them) without it trying to dnld them all again? (for seeding and checking for duplicates)
Re: Folders questions?
If you want a mass import method.
Put the payload(s) in the 'complete' location,
set up a 'watch' folder,
set qbt to not automatically start the tasks,
Put all the metadata files (.torrent) into the watch folder,
When they have loaded, start them in batches.
They WILL recheck on starting so be prepared for the wait.

Re: Folders questions?
By the way, if your payload 'root' folder name does not match the meta info name, it will be unable to locate the payload, so you DO need to check that 'your' folder name matches the top folder name "EXACTLY" that is shown on the [Content] view of the GUI information panel.
Re: Folders questions?
Not sure what you mean by watch folder?
I have the finished dnlds in a folder called shared, witch is where finished dnlds go.
.torrent files are in a folder called torrents.
Qbt is not loading the old torrents in torrent folder but does load new torrents.
file/import only seems to work 1 file at a time.

Re: Folders questions?
If YOU do not tell the client where they are ... it can't 'update' them.Qbt is not loading the old torrents in torrent folder but does load new torrents.
Options -> Downloads and you will see where is says "Watched Folder"Not sure what you mean by watch folder?
Re: Folders questions?
First off Thank You
QBT now finds the torrents, but it is not finding the corresponding files
Watch folder is torrent folder (where the .torrent files are)
Saved files are in f:/shared (where all the completed files are)
See attached pic.

Re: Folders questions?
Then the topmost folder is not named exactly as it is in the metadata.but it is not finding the corresponding files
It may be the case that the client that downloaded the payload has modified or added an extra folder.
Look at the folder structure on disc and the "Save path" on the "General" view of the information pane to see what the difference(s) is/are.
