Preview file command does not launch system default mediaplayer

Post by tetractys »

As in title:
1) Preview file command does not launch system default mediaplayer (VLC)
2) Nor the "Open" command

It decides to invoke one of the other mediaplayer present (Videos - belongs to the gstreamer suite) but not the default one (set by me in the dialog in the control center).
From the file manager, double clicking on the file, the correct "default" mediaplayer is invoked, loaded and the file visualized.

qBittorrent 3.1.12
Ubuntu-mate 14.10 official (MATE 1.8.1)

Can i "touch" any of the qBittorrent config file(s) to "force" the invoking of VLC mediaplayer?

It decides to invoke one of the other mediaplayer present
Then the problem is with the OS settings for the 'default' player NOT the one that is set as default for the 'file manager'.

Thank you for your prompt answer.
The default mediaplayer is set to VLC. Doubleclicking on any type of video file listed in the filemanager open VLC first.
I tried to search somethin associated to qBittorrent via dconf-editor but unsuccesfully.

Any idea please?

That may only be set for the file manager (which ever one you are using). What default is set in -> System Settings... -> Default Applications?
