Torrent speed limit at 10 MiB/s

Post by ftsleo »

Hi there.

I would like to know if anyone has the same "problem" that I have that when download torrents my speed limits at 10 MiB/s even when my ISP connection is fiber 300/150 mbits. My ISP told me that they not limit at all any kind of connection. And the same problem occurs on wifi or cable.

Thanks in advance

When doing a internet speed test, are you still getting capped at 10 megs ?

Have you tested to perform a torrent download with a different client other than qBittorrent ?

Yes I have.

I used to download torrent files with Utorrent client before migrate to qBittorrent.

But same limit occurs.

Same here and the write cache is constantly overloaded with the hard disk at 100%. Zero problems with 4.1.9.1. Something got broken in the caching.

Any one knows if this is a torrent clients limit?

I actually have the same problem.

I had problems with rapidly changing speed from 200kB/s to 3MB/s and back.

I re-installed QBittorent. Now the speed is almost constant.

My download and upload speed according to speedtest are 950Mbit/s IN, 95Mbit/s OUT

I have default settings, VPN proxy and router port forwarding.
I use NAS (Seagate Ironwolf, cache 64MB) via 1Gbit ethernet.
Best settings that I have tested are 100 connections per torrent, 2 simultaneous downloads and no restrictions on speed (out or in).
The best I can get is 15MB/s IN total.

Is there a way to boost the speed somehow?

At everyone here; See and read here:
https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/12336

Download this patched exe zip file and unpack it into qBittorrent folder, overwrite everything and try again:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1nlpgfd0wjao3 ... 6.zip?dl=1

There was something not working properly within libtorrent itself which is fixed now. This is a fixed exe file. I think a new release will come soon I hope when sledge is around.

You can continue to follow the Github page or share your experience there if needed.

Another confirmation, nice.

There is a second method to fix this issue eventually; Set the cache size yourself. See the Github page.
