Migrate from crashed Ubuntu to....

Post by Crunchyman »

I have been qBtorrent for a year or two in Ubuntu 19.X. Love it!

However, the system completely crashed and won't boot anymore. I have spent hours trying to fix it already. I may try to fix it more or I may not. In the meantime I have booted the system up to a Live image USB and I can access the HDD. I was able to copy off the in progress, partial torrent DATA I have already. Those are just the files though. What do I need to get from the drive to retrieve my torrent files/links so I can put them on the new system and HOPEFULLY pick up where I left off? I have MANY GB's of files that are partially complete and frankly, I don't recall what all of them even are. I definitely don't want to start over if I can help it!

For the life of me I can't figure out where the program stores this information. Can someone tell me how to recover this? The closest thing I have found has been a folder in the /.local/share/data/qBittorrent/BT_backup folder that has a few torrents and some others that are suffixed by ".fastresume".

Am I on the right track?

Thanks in advance for the help!
