Port mapping failure, message: could not map port using UPnP: no router found

Post by Locutus1 »

First off, I couldn't find a bug relating to this problem.
Here's more from the log (I've partially x'd out the IP) :-

17/05/2020 19:28 - UPnP/NAT-PMP: Port mapping failure, message: could not map port using UPnP: no router found

17/05/2020 19:53 - UPnP / NAT-PMP support [ON]

17/05/2020 19:53 - Anonymous mode [OFF]
17/05/2020 19:53 - PeX support [OFF]
17/05/2020 19:53 - Local Peer Discovery support [OFF]
17/05/2020 19:53 - DHT support [OFF]

PeX, LPD & DHT are off as that's what the Torrent site wants.
So my PC has a fixed IP, and I have set up port forwarding for 53085 on the local IP (192. etc), although TBH I don't think that's necessary as I don't need to do that for the regular Bit Torrent client for PB, which btw does detect my router and it's UPNP entries are listed in my router for the VPNs IP add, and none for the local one. BT works fine up & down, but I need to use a different client for a private torrent site I use, one of it's recommended clients is qBittorrent. No entries for qbittorrent are to be found in my routers port forwarding list.
Turning UPNP on or off makes no difference to the problem, allowing a random port makes no difference, selecting the VPNs IP in the advanced options makes no difference. Changing the lease time from 0s to 3600s made no difference.
The VPN (Private VPN) supports portforwarding and this works for the regular Bit Torrent.

I think I've covered everything I've tried, oh I have Googled the problem, I thought I found something about an invalid UPNP lease duration setting or response with qBT, but apparently that was fixed a couple of years ago. (Btw the linked '?' for lease duration leads to a page which doesn't even mention it!).

qBT v4.2.5, Win10 64bit, router Virgin Media Hub3 (which windows reports as an ARRIS TG2492LG-85 Router, model no 4.5.5.44_0410).
PC specs, Ryzen 3600, MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC (daft name!), 32GB RAM, 500 GB Samsung SSD & a 3TBB HDD.

JFYI I had the same problem with Deluge, if that makes any odds, I gave up with that & tried qBT as it has the advanced options for choosing IPs :), unfortunately it hasn't worked for uploading so far (bar once, after starting, it briefly uploaded bizarrely!).
I'm hoping you guys can help, or I'll have to try another client! :(

TIA

No ideas then?
Should I report it as a bug?

Guess I need to report this as a bug.

Forgot to say in my op (which I can't edit! What's that about??), that I can download, but I can't upload (unsurprisingly).
