Hello Forum,
it seems seeding without port forwarding is possible?
Currently I'm behind a VPN without port forwarding and uploading files that are completed a long time ago. And I'm doing a restart here and then.
How does it work? My client cant be reached from outside. So my client tells the tracker that I have torrent X. Another client (with open ports) wants torrent X and tells that to the tracker and the tracker tells it to my client. Then my client connects to the foreign client.
So the tracker has the info who has torrent X but also knows who wants torrent X. Correct?
Thanks
Peter

Re: Seeding without port forwarding
Yeah you will only be able to seed to clients that have "open" ports.
It does work but obviously would be better if you have a VPN that you could forward ports.
What you said is correct.

Thanks for confirmation
Then I dont need port forwarding (respectively another VPN provider) I think... the uploads happen for my seldom files.

Re: Seeding without port forwarding
I wouldn't care about port forwarding as much with public tracker. For private trackers you should care more.
Still would be best to find a VPN with port forwarding.
