qBittorrent on Pardus Linux

Post by acjohnson »

Would it be possible for you to add Pardus to your list of Binary packages on your download page?

qBittorrent 2.3.0 is currently available in the contrib repo for Pardus 2009, 2009.1, 2009.2

You can install qBittorrent with the following commands:

Code: Select all

#Ensure the contrib repo is present on your system:
sudo pisi ar contrib http://packages.pardus.org.tr/contrib-2009/pisi-index.xml.bz2

#Enable the contrib repo if present but disabled:
sudo pisi er contrib

#Install qBittorrent:
sudo pisi it qbittorrent
Here is the dev page for the package at pardus: http://packages.pardus.org.tr/info/cont ... rrent.html

I am going to send this forum link to the pardus-users mailing list and urge them to update qBittorrent to the latest version and to consider adding it to their official repo.

BTW if you haven't heard of Pardus check out the Compiz Fusion download page, they apparently have:

Thank you, I have updated the download page accordingly. Please do not hesitate to contact me if it requires updating.

I have also remodeled the download page a little so that it feels more organized.

Thank you very much!

I do like what you did with the download page, but I almost like the old download page better...

Maybe I just need to get used to it. Either way I'm not going to complain!

Thanks again!

Well, the old page allowed direct access to content and it is great unless you have too much content. The page was starting to get crowded so I decided to do something about it. Also, since the content of the page is exactly the same (I am merely using hidden divs), it will not affect google indexing.

Never mind, I like the new download page just fine :)

Also here is the response from the developer in charge of this package for Pardus:
qbittorrent is updated in source repository. It should be available
till next week or so and you should be able to update it via
package-manager.
I'm pretty sure he's saying that the source package has been updated in the contrib repo to 2.4.4

I will post back if anything changes but if that is correct then the install process remains the same.

BTW Excellent open source software Chris. Keep up the good work!
