qBittorrent's user-agent?

The peer-ID is well documented in the FAQs, but some private trackers use the user-agent to whitelist clients. What is the exact "user-agent" of the newest and older versions of qBittorrent?

I spoke to Chris some time ago because qBt is banned on a tracker. This http agent signature wasn't enough apparently. The response i got from the admin was :

We need http agent signature, qBittorrent v3.0.0 is not a signature, there should be some other string

.

I wonder what is the signature he was requesting (the client is still banned there).

In fact, the reply that i quoted was sent after i gave him the peer ID and the http agent so he needed something extra i think. Honestly, that's the only admin i saw asking this, it's whitelisted everywhere now.

Granted that I am not an expert on this field, but I don't think that bittorrent clients give any other info about them apart from the peer id and http agent. I could be wrong though.

I don't think too, otherwise all other trackers would have asked about that info and that's not the case. qBt was blacklisted on the tracker i'm talking about because some people used it to "ratio cheat" apparently. I highly doubt it is the case since qBt doesn't have features like that.

Anyway, i ultimately gave up as it was leading nowhere.

A lot of private sites don't even listen to reasoning or getting a particular client un-blacklisted... or have that mentality that they know better than anyone else. If they are so unwilling to listen to reasoning I say find a different/better private site.

Hi Loki. Yes some are a bit too narrow-minded. However, the most "elitist" trackers allow the use of qBt and generally, you just have to ask the devs to get a new version whitelisted. The exception is clients that are able to spoof their Peer ID, they are generally banned on sight. That's why qBt had a "bad reputation". qBt spoofing ability is now a thing of the past so most trackers decided to allow it (at last!).

This tracker i'm talking about is more of a "half-private" place. How paradoxical...

Yep i guess that now that they advertise themselves in the torrent files using txt files (like Demonoid), i can give the name publicly, it's called AudioNews. It will be open for registrations on the 2nd of June.
