qBittorrent 3.1.2

MAC OS X specific questions, problems.

That's happening because you're using a version of OSX that isn't supported with xcode now. IIRC it was dropped as of XCode 5.x series and if you can you should update your version of osx to at least 10.7 or 10.8

While, I don't know how many 10.6 users we have, would it possible to make 10.6 compatible builds? (we list 10.6 as compatible in the download page)

In my opinion we shouldn't be supporting 10.6, even Apple dropped support for the 10.6.x line and macports at least needs the latest xcode installed. Other software venders have been doing the same too with their products. As much as it pains me to say, we shouldn't support 10.6, it's a dead platform now.

Ok since you cannot downgrade xcode or somehow use another version of it, I'll just remove the 10.6 support from the download page.

Just FYI, though Apple is unofficially no longer supporting Snow Leopard, there is a ton of software that still does. Transmission, iTunes, XBMC, Plex. There is help online for adding the 10.6 SDK back into Xcode. It surely isn't impossible. Also fwiw, I'm running on an original Mac Pro, which isn't supported in 10.9. So I'd have to upgrade to 10.7, which would cost $20, which just sucks...lol.

Also, FWIW, Snow Leopard is still listed on the download page.

@jrett
Now... I hate piracy. I hate it. I depise it.
But you know MAAAAYBE there are ways to get that update.

Of course I don't say you should not buy it. Boy, did I say that.
But MAAAAYBE there are other ways, you know.

Again, you should buy it.

heh, is a program compiled on "pirate" software still acceptable as free open source...?

Well, OS X is a closed, proprietary, "malicious" software by itself.
The hardware is locked down too, again it is malicious.

Ask RMS, he replies to every mail. :D

By the way 10.9 is free, but others are not. Yepp, Apple being retarded.
(To be honest if I paid 2-4k USD+ for a computer, MAYBE I would not pay each year 20$+ to be able to run new stuff.)

But again, I never said he should pirate. Be a good customer and buy the newest iMac with the bestest CPU and the latest OS. :)

Ps.: I like OS X but I would only buy a Mac Mini at best. Retina MacBooks had those burn in issue without any fix. The iMac had CCFL and other display related problems. (We have tons of them at workplace, almost every second machine got some issue. Truly worth the price.)

Yeah, I wouldn't want a screen to burn through my retinas, lol.

So I spent the $20, and upgraded to 10.7 (Lion). qbittorrent still doesn't work. I'm starting to think that the dmg isn't universal, since my Mac is 32-bit, and I'm guessing the current release is 64-bit.

Dug into the dmg and confirmed that yes, the binary is 64 bit. I pretty new to building for Mac, but we really should create a universal binary.

Weird, I thought all mac's were 64-bit, 10.7 on I guess. The next question I suppose, who still uses 32-bit processors and where would you even find one these days (speaking intel and amd specifically non-imbedded)?

I was wrong sorry. Went back to 3.0.9 and that is not universal so that isn't the problem. (3.0.9 works fine on my MacPro1,1). I was wrong, My kernel is running in 32bit mode, but my hardware is 64bit. So not being universal isn't a huge problem. (Though we should update the download page to say so.) If the package was build without the 10.7 SDK as he says in the other thread, then that is likely the problem.

As a side note, the download page still has not been updated with the fact that 3.1.3 doesn't support 10.6 or 10.7. I would be nice to have a link to 3.0.9 there so people don't have to dig around for it.
