XFCE: Cannot open destination/dontaining folder.

Post by bmn »

Clicking those menus has no effect. I ran qbittorrent from the terminal to see the error output, and there was:

> Unable to detect a launcher for 'file:///the path to the folder'

Also, the "Open" menu for files has the same exact problem. I have searched Google for this, but the only few results were about "firejail". I don't have firejail installed. Also, in the XFCE's settings, the default file manager is set to Thunar, and in "Others" tab, I have set all inode related entries to Thunar.

What else can I do?

Found the solution: installing xdg-utils.

The OS was Ubuntu Server + XFCE which did not have xdg-utils installed by default. On Manjaro XFCE, it worked, so in Add/Remove Software, I examined the required packages of Qbittorrent, and there was xdg-utils. I installed it in the Ubuntu, and now it works.

Not deleting my question to help future people.
