makes no difference if torrent is magnetic or not, various torrenting sites tried. uninstalled qbit and reinstalled. tried pausing, restarting torrent and forcing torrent. qbit has been running flawlessly for me for months seeing almost daily use til now.

any ideas as to the problem cause or a fix gratefully received.

so is the client freezing up, or you just can't download anything?

Also occurs on my Win10 system. Torrents from multipe sources fail to start, and started torrents stop.

Unfortunately not an answer, just to say I am having a similar problem where torrents just sit and absolutely nothing happens.
I have McAfee for anti-virus, I also wonder if this prevents anything going through? Is there a generic website that I could tell McAff to ignore?

There is your problem. Jokes aside, most anti-virus software allows you to pause protection and see if that solves the problem.
