Switch from uTorrent, Help!

Post by Larabee »

Hello,

I recently switched from uTorrent to QBittorrent and I am wondering if there is an easy way to QBittorrent to locate the files from older torrents rather than download them again? I have a lot of torrents and I rather not have to point each torrent to it's corresponding folder. I do have QBittorrent set to download in the same folder where the folders are located. Thanks!

You should exit qBittorrent, temporarily remove torrents or just rename BT_BACKUP folder and qBittorrent folder and use special tool that will import your torrents and their preferences from uTorrent.

Look at the Forums - Windows
- Pinned Topic - Windows tool for migration from Bittorrent/uTorrent/Deluge to qBittorrent

Default location of important qBittorrent folders:

Link to qBittorrent WIKi FAQ page:

If you can't see appdata folder, then you can open File Explorer settings and enable showing hidden files and folders or search for RUN after opening Start Menu or just right click on your Windows start menu icon, select RUN and copy paste these and press enter key or OK on screen to open these:
1. %APPDATA%\qBittorrent
2. %LOCALAPPDATA%\qBittorrent
