Where do deleted torrent files go?

Hi guys, I have a question linked to torrents that I no longer need. When I delete them in the program, I am asked if I also want to delete these files from my hard drive. I tick the box and the files disappear from my desktop or wherever I had them. But where do they go to? They are not in the recycle bin. There is also no free disk space on my hard drive (checked the numbers before and after), so they still have to be somewhere. Can anybody tell me?

As far as I could tell, the checkbox is for deleting the downloaded files, not the .torrent file.

this is correct. Delete the torrent inside QBT remove it from the managed .torrent files so no seed/leech possible anymore.
If the checkbox is not ticked the media file corresponding to the .torrent managed by QBT is left on the disk.

To remove the torrent file and the associated media file your need to check the box, that will delete the downloaded file from your hard drive
