qBittorrent official forums

I use PIA VPN and Qbittorrent V4.5.2
It will not go past the Downloading Metadata status. I searched the forum. I did what the options it says to do to fix the issues and still does not work. Is there other ways to correct this?

VPN renders you passive, but you can port forward to get around that. Only a few providers support port forward though.

PIA does forward ports though not all their servers do. More, they change the port number willy-nilly.

Interesting. It was working fine until my last update on qbittorrent. I'll mess with it and see if i can get it to work. I will report back

It still wont connect. Not sure why it was working perfectly fine. I even use 2 different VPNS to see.

You can only download metadata, if its' a "healthy swarm". If there are enough peers on it.

When it's "Downloading metadata", it's trying to connect to people, to grab the original .torrent file basically. And if there are not enough people, or it cannot connect to enough people, it will just sit there waiting, forever.
