Jackett: api key error!

When I search for something that QB can't find I often get:
Jackett: api key error! Right-click this row and select 'Open description page' to open help. Configuration file: '/home/dave/.var/app/org.qbittorrent.qBittorrent/data/qBittorrent/nova3/engines/jackett.json' Search: '[searchterm]'

What does this mean and do I need to correct something somewhere?

I followed the instructions to install the jackett.py plugin, but it told me I've already got it and the one I have is more recent, it is 4.0
