IP Address to Report to Trackers (what does this mean?)

Post by Starshine »

I am stuck in a swamp of torrent proxies, VPN and seeding trouble and paranoia among private trackers, so trying to find some kind of setup that will keep me out of the NSA or GCHQs logs, safe from prosecution and not banned from any sites.

Anyway I came across IP Address to Report to Trackers what is this feature for, and what are some examples for its intended usage?

The purpose of the feature is for you provide an external IP or DNS hostname that your machine / client can be connected to directly, thus avoiding VPN / Proxy / NAT routing problems.
BitTorrent trackers are not mandated to use this IP or hostname if present and may simply ignore it.

Seedserver is your best bet.
Best connections/speed. Get one with SFTP support and you are good.

VPN/Socks5 will make you passive, so none of those is ideal for private trackers.
And you get slower speeds on public ones as well.
