All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
Hi, I have been using QB for a while now without problems in both Windows 864-bit and OpenSUSE 13.1. Recently in both OS's QB says 'Stalled' for all torrent and none will start. In Windows I fixed this by selecting a network interface in the options. That solution doesn't work in Linux.
Any ideas on what I can try?
Edit: The problem has returned in Windows again, and I can't fix it. One actually says 'downloading' but it's behaving as though it's stalled.

What version of qbt and libtorrent do you use on opensuse?
Do your torrents have seeds/peers? Do popular torrents download? eg http://www.nyaa.se/?page=download&tid=532058

I have qbt version 3.0.11 and libtorrent is version 0.16.11. It says the latest version is 2.1.3 but I can't update it, don't know why. I also saw libtorrent14 and 17 so I installed those two to test. They didn't help.

Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
I cannot help you. opensuse has too old versions.
Latest qbittorrent is 3.1.9 and latest libtorrent is 0.16.15. On Windows did you use 3.1.9?

Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
On Windows I have 3.1.8, I guess I should update it.
Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
I'm temporarily using Ktorrent until I manage to figure this out. I'll post back after I've updated to the latest version of libtorrent.
Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
I've been talking to the people at the opensuse forums. They say qbt doesn't use libtorrent, they say it uses libtorrent-rasterbar, of which the latest version is 0.16.11 (which I have). This must be a bug in the program itself then?

Point them at this: http://sourceforge.net/projects/libtorr ... z/download
The latest is 0.16.15. But it seems that opensuse hasn't packaged it for some reason.
The are 2 libraries named "libtorrent". We use the libtorrent from rasterbar.

Dear [deity] PLEASE save us from clueless "experts"!!!
libtorrent and libtorrent-rasterbar are ONE AND THE SAME thing!!!!
Rasterbar Software (Arvid Norberg) ARE the developers and maintainers of libtorrent. Even Wikipedia managed to get that one right!!!!

Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
So how do I find out what version of libtorrent I'm using in Windows? I must have an old version in both OS's.

Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
Windows will use the latest at the time of release. And 3.1.9 was using 0.16.15+svn
@ciaobaby, nope. There is also this: http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/ and for some reason it is only refered to as "libtorrent" as opposed to the one from rasterbar, which on linux repos takes the name of "libtorrent-rasterbar"

Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
Devs, please do a simple test.
1) Open qBittorrent,
2) Download a file to a USB.
3) Seed a little time, 2min.
4) Pause the downloaded torrent.
5) Exit qBittorrent
6) Unmount USB
7) Open qBittorent (without mounted USB where the download file is)
Resume paused file.
= STALLED!
Regards,
Nili

Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
Wait.. How do you want to seed the file that you download to an usb and unmount it after some minutes? Isn't it logical that qBittorrent can't find the file cause you have unmounted the usb?
Its like downloading a file, seed for 2mins (like you say), close qBittorrent, delete the downloaded file and start seeding again which isn't possible cause the file is not there anymore..? How do you expect qBittorrent to seed after unmounting the usb?

Re: All torrents are stalled and refuse to start!
And what you would expect it to do what when the payload data is not where it expects to find it???Open qBittorent (without mounted USB where the download file is)
Resume paused file.
I feel sure that if you check the execution log it will inform you why it has stopped seeding the pieces for that job.
