3.2.0 problem in searching peers
3.2.0 problem in searching peers
3.2.0 seems to have trouble searching for seeds and peers when trackers are offline or not exist during download.
It will get stuck there without looking in DHT/PeX/LSD for hours.
Does not affect upload.
3.1.12 seems to ignore dead trackers and can search peers from DHT & PeX for the same torrent within a few seconds.
Problem seems more significant when doing magnet links.

Re: 3.2.0 problem in searching peers
I'm probably having similar / identical issue. Ever since I installed 3.2.0 none of my torrents are uploading. Ratio barely reaches 1.00 despite normally it being 5.00+.
qBittorrent 3.2.0
libtorrent 1.0.4.0

Re: 3.2.0 problem in searching peers
As far I can see at the screenshot is that there are no leechers available to who you can upload to.
Also; private trackers are forbidden to use DHT/PeX/LSD.

Re: 3.2.0 problem in searching peers
Not sure about the issue for private torrents.
Currently I am using these magnet links as test.
Test clients:
In 3.2.0 (stable version, Qt 4.8.6, Libtorrent 1.0.4.0, Boost 1.55.0)
In 3.1.12 (stable version, Qt 4.8.6, Libtorrent 0.16.19.0, Boost 1.55.0)
Test machines:
i5-4460 Windows 7 x64 build 7601.
i3-3227u Windows 7 x64 build 7601.
sfc /checknow shows no errors.
Inserting magnet link shows only hash.
After importing the actual torrent, file name and info will display, but still no help
Does not seem to affect uploads
Upload tasks for longer running time
After downgrading to v3.1.12, download tasks can find peers again
Sorry for the late reply.
Please confirm it is bug or not.
Help me to post to bug tracker when confirm it is bug, I maybe late these days, thanks.

Re: 3.2.0 problem in searching peers
I tried 3.2.0 again and once again I've been disappointed.
It's bad at downloading (often torrents are stalled) and even worse at uploading (barely reaches ratio of 1.0).
All torrents are exclusively stored on HDD and it turns off due to inactivity multiple times per day. That never happens with 3.1.12.
In 1st screenshot I marked torrents which are from 3.2.0 and 3.1.12 versions. It's easy to easy that 3.2.0 produces terrible upload rates compared to 3.1.12.
Screenshot even shows 2 stalled torrents.
I noticed one thing though: if I force tracker reannounce it starts uploading.
2nd screenshot shows reinstalled 3.1.12 taken roughly 1 minute after 1st screenshot. Torrents started downloading / uploading immediately.

Not in the testing I have done with both clientsIt's easy to easy that 3.2.0 produces terrible upload rates compared to 3.1.12.
Re: 3.2.0 problem in searching peers
Is there any way to gather more information?
As things stand now I'll be stuck using 3.1.12 using forever.

Re: 3.2.0 problem in searching peers
So many questions. Not sure why it's required since it's a problem with a particular version.
Connections: Global maximum and per torrent.

Half-open connection value.

Are you using a proxy?
No.
Do you seed more than download? or vice versa?
Seed more than download. RSS is set up to auto-download. qBittorrent is running ~16 h per day.
How many tasks do you expect to run on average?
Over 200 torrents. But majority of them are inactive due to lack of long-term leechers.
Do you use the machine for other tasks simultaneous with BitTorrent downloads
Yes. For everything (web / gaming / etc.). Torrents don't get in my way.
Are there other users on the LAN?
Ues, but network usage is minimal.
If a specific loaded task is a problem, please provide;
Problem happens for all torrents.
The status of the task.
Seeding. For all 200+ torrents.
Seed and Peer counts in bracketed form x(n) ... The number in the bracket is possible, the number outside is actual.
Problem applies to all torrents so nothing specific. Latest torrent is 0(30) / 0(2). For a moment it was 1(1) and turned back to 0(1) without uploading anything.

Re: 3.2.0 problem in searching peers
Easy to blame qBittorrent with unlimited connections, even half open at 0. Those settings makes no sense at all. I would say uninstall your current qBittorrent completely and do a clean install with 3.2.0, OR, if you don't want to do this change or edit the settings as below, read on.
Im always doing a clean install of any version when updating (even with high number of torrents loaded) to be sure that everything is working 100% correct without conflicts, but thats me.
I was not planning to reply because ciao was on it but anyway. Hope you read it carefully.
Optimal settings calculator (old but gold):
Go to: http://infinite-source.de/az/az-calc.html, fill your upload speed there in kiloBit/second and you will get nice numbers to start with.
The things you need to change, the others are fine:
Global: 500
Per torrent: 100
See the calculator I wrote down above to get your best settings regarding your upload speed.
0 (1) turning to 1 (1) says nothing at all. There was/is a leecher registered at that tracker at a certain time but he might have finished his torrent in the meantime. Or someone is behind a firewall who can't connect to you. You must not think that the problem is qBittorrent, the problem might be on their side too.
Im running 101 torrents currently and everything works fine. Im letting qBittorrent run for days if needed to without any problems. If you still have problems running 3.2.0 (after clean install) you can use 3.1.12 but don't advertise to others to downgrade if you are using bad settings. There is enough information to be found to fully optimize the settings for your connection. The default ones are good to start with, I can't give you my settings cause I got a different internet and router which might not work with you.

Again; Why 0? Your internet line will choke and/or your router can choke also and might restart/disconnect. Leave this at 50 default setting. If you experience bad connection you can try to lower this to 20-25.Half-open connection value.
0. Disabled.
Set it on (default).Rate limit uTP?
Off.
There are 30 seeds. 0 (2) says that there are/were 2 leechers, but this doesn't mean you can or must connect to these 2. That number can be ''outdated'' from a while back.Seed and Peer counts in bracketed form x(n) ... The number in the bracket is possible, the number outside is actual.

Now THAT is definitely a problem setting!!!!
You NEED half-open connections .... .... Just not too many of them.

Done this. It'll take a few days to see whether these settings manage to get same upload / ratio results as 3.1.12.
I still find it weird that my usual settings suddenly stopped working in the new version.
