[SOLVED] speed limits

Post by phunker »

i'm using qbittorrent, v2.7.3 on gentoo linux (amd64) and I've got some problems setting speed limits..
the upload speed limit is set to 400 Kib/s but I see that current upload speed is up to 900Kib/s ..
but the big issue is about the download speed..
I removed download speed limits but the max download speed reached is up to 1.3Mib/s
I've got a 100Mb/s line so I can reach 10Mib/s download speed ( as on megaupload and other applications )
could you help me? thank you

Torrents rely on the speed of peers, and the connection between you and them, it's very likely they don't have the kind of upload speeds to match your download speeds.

Hi, thank you for the reply.
I agree with that but I suppose it's an issue that if I add some files to download queue, the speed of each one of them decreases in order to reach a max total speed of 1.3 Mbit/s..

Do you get faster speeds with any other torrent program?

no, other clients are slower.. the only way to download faster is by http/ftp downloads

It must be problem as described above... your download speed depend on other seeds/peers upload speed. Unlike http/ftp sites most users have very low (comparatively) upload speeds.

You're right.. after several tests, the speed reached its max at 10Mib/s .. I'll check why the upload speed doesn't follow the limit.. right now, the big issue is solved :)
