@Nemo_0 Can you give me a link to a torrent that produces this error? What OS are you using? I got one torrent from ironcross and I was able to reproduce the error under WinXP sp2 32 bit.

So, you fixed the I/O error for 64-bit but now it occurs for 32-bit?

AHH! NO, I got the I/O error back now too... when downloading a torrent, same error message as before.

Code: Select all

An I/O error occured, 'torrent name' paused.
Reason: 'torrent name' file (E:/Bittorrent/'file name.!qb') error: Reached the end of the file

NOD32 is quarantining v2.9.0 with a "probably a virus" warning.  It hasn't reacted like this to previous versions.  I scanned a few older versions I have laying around, just to see if it was this is from a recent virus definition update and it doesn't suspect anything of v2.4.9, 2.7.3, 2.8.4 or 2.8.5.

Code: Select all

http://voxel.dl.sourceforge.net/project/qbittorrent/qbittorrent-win32/qbittorrent-2.9.0/qbittorrent_2.9.0_setup.exe
probably a variant of Win32/Hoax.ArchSMS.HU application

I HIGHLY doubt that, but I tried the 'fixes' that were suggested to work and none of them work, it seems the I/O error is indeed back.

The only difference in this build is that I link every external dll statically and I make one executable(qbittorrent.exe). For me, Comodo Firewall poped up a warning that the exe is malicious but I chose to report it back as false positive. I also have avast installed and it didn't throw any warning. I suggest you send it to nod32 as false positive so they can examine the file and confirm that this is a false positive.

These I/O errors seems to be different. They occur even on WinXP 32bit but not in every torrent. eg Now I am downloading an anime episode and it doesn't throw the error. The torrent ironcross gave me, had a huge file in it (~6GB) and threw the error. Can you please point me to the torrents that throw the error for you?

How about to make the dll's like in the previous versions?
I have another torrent with bigger file inside - 7GB, but no problems with it in 2.9.0.

I link statically to solve this bug->https://bugs.launchpad.net/qbittorrent/+bug/856242
I also save some MBs this way. The alternative(bundling the vs2008 redist) would increase the MBs.

I think I solved the I/O errors. Download this installer. I will talk to Dumez and this may replace the 2.9.0 build currently available. Please test it and report back.

Sorry, sledgehammer, but no change with 2.9.0+patch 09.10.2011.
As i said, i have another torrent with a big file inside - 7GB, and now i have the same I/O error with it: "The parameter is incorrect" :)
The error with the previous torrent popped up too.

I have a different error. Something like "Reached the end of file."
