Latest M1 tales of woe? Successes? Happiness?

Apparently at some point I reported v4.3.0 was good on my M1 iMac. I know at some point I kept updating and got to the point it was unuseable. Have tried stuff to no avail.
My case: M1 iMac, 16 GB RAM, Big Sur v11.5.2 - qBittorrent v4.3.9 and unofficial M1 version v4.3.5. Over 1,300 torrents.
Once 600-700 torrents are loaded the qB GUI slows down to the point of being useless.
Any one with a similar case that is happy? Any other details/stories?
