I'm sure I used to have qBitTorrent choose a random port from a range of my choosing every time it started and open it using UPnP.
Now it just seems to have chosen a fixed port that it always tried (and silently failed) to open, because it was outside the range my router is set to allow for UPnP.
Obviously now I know what's happening I have changed it to a fixed port that is allowed but I can't see how to make it choose randomly again!
Has this feature been removed in the latest version?
If so why?
Note: I'm running qBitTorrent 4.4.0 (64 bit) on Windows.
Random torrent port feature removed?!
Re: Random torrent port feature removed?!
4.3.9 has the setting under "Connection" under "Options": Use different port on each startup. But it doesn't allow a range to be set, haven't seen that in the many years I've been using qBittorrent.
Re: Random torrent port feature removed?!
Maybe I set the router to match the range of ports qBitTorrent 4.3.9 used.
I think the router is set to allow only ports 49152 - 65535 for UPnP.
Anyhow the question remains.

Re: Random torrent port feature removed?!
Feature still not present in 4.4.1.
I guess I have to give up on the idea of using a different random port each time I start qbittorrent.

Re: Random torrent port feature removed?!
They did not remove the option but embedded it in the port chooser. All you need to do is to enter 0 for port in order for qbittorrent to automatically choose a random port for you at startup.
